As 2025 comes to a close, Hijaz Community SACCO is taking steps to ensure its members are well-prepared for a prosperous 2026.
The five-year-old SACCO recently held a meeting with its members to update and reactivate accounts under the theme, “Re-Igniting Hijaz Finance for Sustenance Transformation.”
The initiative is part of Hijaz’s efforts to empower members—particularly low-income earners, widows, and youth—through Sharia-compliant financial services.
The SACCO aims to promote financial inclusion, socio-economic transformation, and sustainable growth within Uganda’s Muslim community.
Hijaz Managing Director Ms Rathia Nalwanga said the SACCO has helped many members achieve their financial goals and overcome challenges over the past five years. She encouraged both existing and potential members to update dormant accounts and join the growing SACCO network.
“With five years of experience, Hijaz Community SACCO has enabled many to meet their goals and navigate financial challenges,” Nalwanga said.
“We call upon more people to join and ensure their accounts are active and contributing to their financial growth.”
She further emphasized that Hijaz SACCO is a registered organization, supervised by the Uganda Microfinance Regulatory Authority (UMRA).
The SACCO offers Sharia-compliant financial services, including savings, credit access, and joint investment opportunities.
With over 5,000 registered accounts, Hijaz focuses on empowering women and vulnerable groups, fostering both economic participation and long-term financial security.
As Hijaz continues to grow and support its members, the community remains optimistic about a brighter financial future.
